PRECAUTIONS

Uganda is a beautiful and wonderful place. Follow these simple suggestions for a comfortable stay:

  • Drink only bottled water. (Readily available.) Be sure seal is not broken.
  • When not on the Aidchild site(s), do not eat fresh fruits and vegetables unless you know that they have been washed and prepared properly.
  • If in a restaurant, avoid buffets. The food sits for a long time, thus increasing the chance of getting food poisoning.
  • Avoid any movement after dark.

THE Aidchild SITE(S)

  • Amenities
Every effort will be made to be sure that you are comfortable while at Aidchild. Our amenities include:
    • Facilities normally described as “western”, including toilets and showers.
    • Email and full internet access available at the Masaka and Equator sites. (Neither is available at the Mpigi site.)
    • Washing machine (no dryer).
    • Generator for power-outages.
    • Water tank for water-outages.

  • Room and Board
Since Aidchild is made possible only because of the generosity of others, the board of directors kindly requests that all visitors contribute $25.00 (US) per person, per day for room and board expenses.
