Also, sadly, most of our children arrive with a desperate diagnosis of less than one (1) month to live.

However, and here’s the exciting part, the Aidchild team has seen incredible success in the reversal of these diagnoses.

• Tender Loving Care Psychosocial Support: The importance of this TLC cannot be overstated. Our children arrive from backgrounds of severe abuse, abandonment and neglect. When that is replaced with the power of love, faith, prayer, and compassion, our kids develop a desire to live, and a hope for tomorrow. These are the ingredients of the miraculous.
  
  
• Nutrition: Children living with AIDS require a very specific diet. When it is provided consistently, and prepared correctly, the results are truly astounding. (See a sampling of our weight charts below, and see Our Menu.)
  
  
• The Aidchild Clinics and Medical Team: Our clinics are always hailed as the best in their villages, and often provide services otherwise unavailable in the district. The aggressive, immediate treatment of opportunistic infections is essential to the children’s meaningful survival and quality of life.
  
  
• The Aidchild Laboratory: Located at the Aidchild headquarters in Masaka, this microbiology lab provides essential testing otherwise unavailable in the district. This enables our medical team to isolate needs and to address them quickly, limiting suffering and extending life. These services, when provided at a very low cost to the community, save the lives of hundreds of our neighbors, and generate income for the project. • Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART): Thanks to the Aidchild Treatment Trust Fund sponsored and managed by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Aidchild is able to offer a lifetime commitment of ART to our children. We are extremely pleased to be among the first providers of ART for children living with AIDS in Africa. The normally prohibitive costs and regimen complexities are fully accommodated at Aidchild, and help to ensure a happy, healthy LIFETIME for our kids.
